Shipping & Delivery
Lead times, Incoterms, containers, inspection and what to plan before your season. This page gathers the most common questions about shipping & delivery into one place.
How long is production and delivery?
Two stages: production, then shipping Production - Stock models: 30 days - Custom fabric, colour or branding: add around 10 days - Pre-production sample, if you want one: the clock starts after you approve the spec Shipping (port to port) - US West Coast: 18 to 25 days - US East Coast: 30 to 35 days - Northern Europe: 30 to 35 days - Middle East (Jebel Ali): 18 to 22 days - Australia: 15 to 20 days On top of that, add customs clearance and inland delivery to your address — those depend on your forwarder and destination, so we don't quote them as our transit time. What changes the schedule - Peak season (March to July) — container space out of Ningbo gets tight, book 4 weeks ahead - Custom branding and Pantone colour matching - Chinese public holidays — Chinese New Year shuts production for around two weeks How we keep you informed We confirm your production slot when the deposit lands, and send photos of the finished goods before shipment. If anything moves, we tell you the day we know, not the day it was due. Tell us the model, the quantity and your deadline, and we'll confirm the full schedule in writing before you order.
Production and delivery time
Standard models typically run 25 to 40 days from confirmed order and deposit, plus ocean transit of roughly 20 to 45 days depending on destination. Custom colours, branding, or new tooling add time, usually 10 to 20 extra days.
Planning your season
Because outdoor is seasonal, we recommend placing orders 2 to 3 months before your selling season so goods land in time. We confirm a firm production schedule at order and update you at each milestone.

What inspection can I arrange before shipment and after arrival?
We support third-party inspection before and after shipment as standard, not as an exception. Before the container loads, accessories are checked against the order. After arrival, you may appoint a professional third party within one month to inspect the goods and send us the report; where that inspection finds major quality problems, the goods are returned to our factory and we bear the freight.
| Stage | Window (from date of arrival) | What happens | Freight |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pre-shipment inspection | Before container loads | Accessories checked against order | |
| Third-party after arrival | Within 1 month of arrival | Buyer appoints inspector, sends report | We bear freight for major faults |
| Production quality claim | Within 3 months of arrival | Photos or video evidence reviewed | We reissue parts and bear freight if our fault |
| Warranty | 12 months from arrival | Outdoor furniture covered | Per warranty terms |
| Spare parts | Up to 5 years | Replacement canopies and parts | See Spare Parts FAQ |
- A: Warranty - Outdoor furniture carries a 12-month warranty counted from the date of arrival rather than the date of loading, so the full window is available to you after the container reaches port.
Related pages - For the defect return and replacement procedure, see our Return and Replacement FAQ. For long-term spare parts supply, see our Spare Parts FAQ. All post-delivery clocks on these pages run from the date of arrival.

Which HS codes do you use, and how is the goods declared?
Four HS codes cover the range, and the correct one is stated on each product page:
- 9401719000: outdoor chairs, the code used on most of the chair range
- 9401790000: outdoor chairs on the aluminium lines, for example the white aluminium armchair and the white round tube armchair
- 9403899000: outdoor tables, for example
- 9403700000: plastic items
Where a set contains both a table and chairs, two codes apply and are both published, for example 9403899000 for the table and 9401719000 for the chairs. Place of origin is China (Zhejiang).
The commercial declaration we use describes the material and construction rather than a brand, for example outdoor furniture, fabric, iron frame, upholstered or not upholstered, no brand. If your broker needs the declaration worded to a specific template, send us the wording and we will match it on the shipping documents.
Tell us the destination country when you enquire. Duty rates and any import requirements are set by your customs authority, so it is worth confirming the code that applies at your end before you cost the shipment.
HS codes and declaration
Umbrellas and outdoor furniture ship under standard outdoor and furniture HS headings; we declare by the exact product type and material so customs clearance is smooth. We provide the HS code and a clear description on the commercial invoice.
Compliance
Goods are declared at true value with the correct origin mark. If your market needs specific statements (such as wood packing treatment or material declarations), tell us and we include them in the docs.

What are the gross and net weights of a shipment?
| Item | Gross weight | Net weight | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| white aluminium armchair | 28.2 kg (6-chair carton) | 23.7 kg (6-chair carton) | about 3.95 kg net per chair |
| white round tube armchair | 17 kg | 15 kg | |
| extendable table | 45.5 kg | 39.5 kg | |
| 5-piece set | 84 kg (B1) / 80 kg (B2) / 64 kg (C1) / 68 kg (C2, D1) | 74 kg (B1) / 70 kg (B2) / 63 kg (C1) / 63 kg (C2, D1) | multi-configuration |
| 4-piece set | 71 kg per set | 66 kg per set | |
| 6-piece corner set | 90 kg | 85 kg |
- A: How to read the figures - The gap between gross and net is the carton and internal packing, so the gross figure is the one to use for freight and manual handling.
- B: Multi-configuration lines - On multi-configuration lines the weight follows the configuration, as shown, so confirm the weight against the version you are ordering.
Gross and net weights
Net weight is the product alone; gross weight adds the carton and protective packing. We list both on the packing list so your forwarder can quote freight and your warehouse can plan handling.
Why it matters
Heavy bases dominate shipment weight, while bulky canopies dominate volume. Balancing the two in a container is how we keep your per-unit freight low. We share weight tables per SKU before booking.

What are the carton sizes and volume per set?
Carton detail is published on every product page, and it is worth reading before you plan a container because the volume per set varies more than the loading figures suggest.
Chairs:
- white round tube armchair: carton 58 x 68 x 93 cm, three chairs per carton, 0.367 CBM
- white aluminium armchair: six chairs per carton, 77 x 58 x 110 cm, 0.491 CBM
- adjustable back armchair: nine chairs stacked per carton
Tables:
- extendable table: carton 228.5 x 131.5 x 14 cm, one table per carton, 0.421 CBM
Sofa sets:
- 5-piece set: two export cartons per set, 0.842 to 1.07 CBM per set depending on the configuration
- 4-piece set: 1.006 CBM per set
- 4-piece set: 1.165 CBM per set
- 4-piece set: 1.764 CBM per set
- 6-piece corner set: four cartons per set, 3.23 CBM per set
Because the volume per set drives the loading figure, the two are worth reading together. A set that packs at 3.23 CBM per set and one at 1.006 CBM per set will fill the same 40HQ with very different numbers of sets. Where a range has several configurations, the carton schedule for the exact configuration is confirmed on the order.
Carton sizes and volume
Carton dimensions vary by model: a centre-pole umbrella ships in a slim tube around 150 cm to 190 cm long, while a cantilever ships in a larger carton up to 220 cm. Bases pack separately, often 2 to 4 per carton depending on weight.
Volume per set
We calculate cubic metre (CBM) per set and per container so you can plan. A typical 40HQ holds a mix of 200 to 500 sets depending on model bulk. Ask for the packing list with CBM for your exact mix.

Can I order less than a full container, or mix products?
Yes. Mixed loading is exactly how we handle an order that does not fill a container on its own.
A container can be filled with more than one item from the same range, and the combination is quoted per mix rather than at the single-item container price. In practice this means a project can order, say, dining chairs together with the table from the same range and fill one container with both, instead of committing to a full container of one code.
The base range works the same way: the 45KG base, the 160KG base and the 360KG base can be mixed in one container.
Tell us the items, the quantities and the destination port, and we will build the loading plan and quote the mix. If your mix is close to a full container, we will say so, because at that point a single-code container is usually the cheaper route.
Less than container and mixed loads
Yes. We support mixed-product containers that combine umbrellas, bases, and furniture in one shipment, and we can arrange LCL (less than container load) for orders below a full box. Mixed loading helps you test several SKUs without a huge commitment.
How we pack a mix
We plan the carton layout so fragile and heavy items are braced, then send you the loading plan for approval. This keeps freight efficient and damage low on combined orders.

What is your minimum order quantity?
Our minimum order quantity is normally one 40HQ container. On several lines the figure works out exactly to that:
- Adjustable back armchair: 360 chairs per 40HQ
- Extendable table: 160 tables per 40HQ
- Corner sofa set: 56 sets per 40HQ
- 6-piece corner set: 52 sets, shipped as two 40HQ loadings of 26 sets each
A few items start lower than a full container. A compact 4-piece dining set starts from 10 sets, and a parasol base starts from 350 pcs. Customised umbrellas are handled separately, with their own minimum, which we cover in the customisation question.
The minimum usually tracks the container for packing economics rather than policy: at one container the loading plan, the carton schedule and the freight cost all line up, so the per-set landed cost is at its lowest. Below a full container we quote mixed loading instead, which is covered in the next question.
Minimum order quantity
Our MOQ depends on the product. Stock umbrella models often start from a small batch, while fully custom colours, sizes, or branded runs carry a higher minimum to cover setup. Typical custom MOQ is one 20-foot container or a negotiated mix.
Mixed and small orders
For first-time buyers we can sometimes accept a mixed container across models, and sample orders are available separately. Share your target models and quantities and we will confirm the exact MOQ and a path that fits a trial order.

How many units fit in one 40HQ container?
Every loading figure we publish is quoted against a 40HQ container. The table below is representative of the current range; the exact figure for your order depends on the version, the packaging format and whether the container is shared with other products.
| Item | Units per 40HQ | Units per 40HQ |
|---|---|---|
| white aluminium armchair | 870 chairs | |
| high-back armchair | 400 chairs stacked (A1) or 700 knock-down in cartons (A2) | Knock-down loads more |
| high-back armchair with wood armrests | 396 stacked (A1) or 568 in cartons (A2) | Knock-down loads more |
| white round tube armchair | 576 chairs | |
| rope weave armchair | 1,200 pcs (A1) or 1,020 pcs (C1/C2) | |
| adjustable back armchair | 360 chairs | Nine to a carton |
| 120 cm round table | 330 tables | |
| extendable table | 160 tables | |
| 4-piece sofa set | 66 / 52 / 38 sets | Three versions in the current range |
| 5-piece rope weave set | 39 sets (B1) or 43 sets (B2, B3) | |
| 6-piece corner set | 26 sets |
Why knock-down builds load more
A knock-down build almost always loads more than the stacked version of the same chair, which is why the high-back armchair moves from 400 to 700 and from 396 to 568. Where both formats are published, plan against the figure that matches the packaging you order.
Sharing a container with other products
A loading figure is for that single item filling a container. When two products share one container the mix is quoted per mix rather than by adding the two figures together. Send us the models and quantities you are considering and we will send the loading plan for your exact mix in writing.

Which port do you ship from, and what trade terms do you quote?
We ship FOB Ningbo, and every price published on this site is quoted on FOB terms.
Ningbo is the port our containers leave from. If you would rather we arranged the sea leg, we also quote Ex-works and CIF to your destination port on request.
Two practical points follow from that.
- Because the standard quotation is FOB, the sea freight is normally arranged by you or your forwarder. Give us the destination port with your enquiry if you want a CIF figure instead, and we will price the freight into the quotation.
- Our loading plans are built around 40HQ containers rather than 20GP, and every loading figure we publish is a 40HQ figure. Tell us the destination port and the quantity, and we will confirm the loading plan and a delivered price.
Port and trade terms
We ship from Ningbo or Shanghai, the two main export ports nearest our Linhai factory, and we quote FOB, CIF, or EXW as required. Most orders move FOB Ningbo for best rate and frequency.
Documentation
We provide commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin, and any certification your market requires (such as CE or REACH declarations). Tell us the destination early so we prepare the right papers.
