Fabric & Color Customization

Fabric and color options built to your brand

Choose the canvas, the color and the finish, then send the layout. Foris Hortus supplies commercial outdoor umbrella fabrics in 180 g to 280 g weights, in polyester, yarn-dyed, olefin and acrylic, with screen or digital printing, PU or PA waterproof coating, UV protection up to uv80, and a canopy color matched to your brand or to an existing scheme.

Fabric and color in detail

Canopy colors

Standard colors are held in stock for repeat orders. A color matched to your brand is developed as a lab dip before production.

Fabric types compared

Polyester

The common commercial choice. Dyed after weaving, available from 180 g to 280 g, and the most economical option for large repeat orders.

Yarn-dyed fabric

The yarn is dyed before weaving, so the color sits deeper in the cloth and holds better under long sun exposure and repeated cleaning.

Olefin

Light, moisture resistant and quick drying. A good fit for humid sites and for covers that are taken down and stored frequently.

Acrylic

Solution-dyed acrylic is the specification for permanent outdoor shade where color retention and UV performance matter most over several seasons.

How to choose the right fabric and finish

Four decisions set the whole specification: exposure, color, weight and finish. Decide them together and the quotation comes back matched.

sun and wind exposure

1. Start with the exposure

Sun hours, coastal air and wind decide how much UV and coating the canopy needs before color is discussed.

stock color or brand match

2. Decide the color direction

A standard stock color keeps repeat orders consistent. A brand match is developed as a lab dip for approval.

200 g against 280 g

3. Match weight and weave to use

Lighter cloth suits seasonal terraces that come down; heavier yard-dyed and acrylic cloth suits permanent shade.

print and coating

4. Lock the finish

Printing method, panel positions, PU or PA coating and the UV index are confirmed together with the color.

Do and avoid

Avoid

Choosing a color from a screen sample. Monitors vary, so always approve a physical lab dip before production.

Avoid

Ordering printed canopies without approving print position and size on a proof first.

Do

Send a Pantone or RAL reference plus the panels you want printed, in vector format.

Do

Describe the exposure. Coastal, rooftop and high-sun sites are specified differently from sheltered courtyards.

Send this with your enquiry and we confirm fabric, color and print layout: Exposure: sun hours, coastal or inlandColor reference: Pantone or RALCanopy size and shapePrinting and panel positionsQuantity band

A canopy color matched to the frame on cast aluminium parts is offered above 500 pieces. MOQ is adjusted to your order volume.

Printed panel positions

Canopy printing is placed around the panels, so a logo reads correctly from the seating side. Up to eight positions can be printed on a single canopy.

Position 0 means no print. Tell us the reading direction and the panel numbers you need, and we return a print layout for approval before the sample is made.

Frequently asked questions

Which fabric lasts best in permanent sun?

Solution-dyed acrylic is the strongest specification for permanent outdoor shade. Yarn-dyed fabric is the next step up from standard polyester where color retention matters, and polyester remains the most economical choice for large repeat orders.

Can you match our brand color exactly?

Yes. Send a Pantone or RAL reference and we submit a lab dip swatch for approval. A color matched to the frame on cast aluminium parts is offered above 500 pieces.

How many print positions can a canopy carry?

Up to eight positions per canopy, in silk screen or digital printing. Smaller runs are usually digital, while larger repeat orders are normally screened.

Will colors match across separate orders?

Standard colors are held in stock to keep repeat orders consistent. For a brand color, we record the approved lab dip so later production runs are matched against the same reference.

Send the fabric weight, color reference, printing requirement and quantity, and we return a matched specification with a landed quotation.
