What are the gross and net weights of a shipment?

Gross and net weights are published per item so you can plan freight, insurance and unloading without waiting for a packing list. Examples from the current range:

• FHCH079 white aluminium armchair: 28.2 kg gross and 23.7 kg net for a six-chair carton, about 3.95 kg net per chair
• FHCH078 white round tube armchair: 17 kg gross and 15 kg net
• FHTB068 extendable table: 45.5 kg gross and 39.5 kg net
• FHSF207 5-piece set: 84 kg gross and 74 kg net (B1), 80/70 kg (B2), 64/63 kg (C1), 68/63 kg (C2, D1)
• FHSF049 4-piece set: 71 kg gross and 66 kg net per set
• FHSF001 corner sofa set: 90 kg gross and 85 kg net

Two things to note. The gap between gross and net is the carton and internal packing, so the gross figure is the one to use for freight and manual handling. And on multi-configuration lines the weight follows the configuration, as FHSF207 shows, so confirm the weight against the version you are ordering.
