A high-back outdoor armchair on a matt dark charcoal powder-coated metal frame, with a tall back built from two stacked cushions, a thick seat cushion in the same grey woven fabric, flat sloping armrests and stretcher bars under the seat.
The back is deliberately tall and built in two cushions rather than one, because a two-part back supports the shoulders and the neck separately, which is what makes a chair comfortable enough to sit back in for an hour on a terrace. The frame is square section rather than round tube, so the chair reads as a heavier piece in a planters-and-paving scheme. It is produced in two versions: a stacking version for venues that clear a terrace every night, and a knock-down version that packs two chairs to a carton for lower freight.

Four details decide how this chair looks and how it survives a season outside.
A two-part high back
The tall back is built from two thick cushions, one above the other, so the upper pad can be lifted off and replaced on its own.
Square-section frame
The frame is square section in matt dark charcoal rather than round tube, which keeps the silicone feet and the joints flush and reads heavier in the scheme.
Flat armrests
The arms are flat bars that curve and slope from the back down to the front legs, so the forearms rest along the whole length rather than on a narrow point.
Braced under the seat
Slim stretcher bars join the legs just below the seat frame, which is what keeps a high-back chair rigid when someone leans back.

Metal frame
Square-section metal is cut, bent and welded into the frame, then finished in a matt dark charcoal powder coating.
Cushions
The back and seat cushions are cut and sewn in a grey woven outdoor fabric, and the two back cushions are separate parts, so one can be replaced without the other.
Two build versions
The stacking version is assembled in the workshop and packed in stacks of ten. The knock-down version is assembled, then broken down and packed two to a carton.
Finishing
Every frame is inspected for coating and joint alignment, and cushions are checked for panel alignment, before packing.

A tall back
At 105 cm overall the back carries well above the shoulders, which is the point of a high-back chair on an exposed terrace.
Rows of chairs
At 56.5 cm wide the chair sits in a regular grid, and rows line up because the frame is built square.

The height given is the overall height including the back. If your drawing shows a seat height instead, ask us to confirm it against the version you have chosen.
Price, packing and loading
Two SKUs are quoted for this chair, both per chair on FOB terms. The seating dimensions are the same; the difference is how the chair packs and therefore what it costs to move.

Questions buyers ask
What is the difference between A1 and A2?
Both are the same chair to the same dimensions. A1 is assembled and stacked for shipping, ten chairs to a stack; A2 is broken down and packed two chairs to a carton, which is why A2 loads 700 to a 40HQ instead of 400.
Which one should we order?
Order A1 if the venue clears and stacks the terrace nightly. Order A2 if the freight matters more than the unit price, because the extra container space is normally worth more than the difference in price per chair.
